The Practice was founded by Tyla Ballantyne, a developmental and play therapist with a highly energetic three year old daughter of her own. With over 10 years experience in the child psychology field, she is passionate about developing little minds and hearts.
Tyla holds an honours degree in Psychology, a post graduate diploma in Applied Behaviour Analysis and a Masters degree, focusing on managing and adapting challenging behaviours in young children. She has further training in Advanced Play Therapy and Counselling.
Her fire was ignited by working with children on the Autism Spectrum. She spent many years volunteering at schools and hospitals, gaining experience with developmental disorders and delays, as well as in counselling and play therapy. She has been part of a highly successful child development practice for the last 8 years, working as a Program Director for children with social, emotional, behavioural, academic and developmental delays and disorders. Currently, she provides Play Therapy and Counselling to young children, as well as support to families, teachers and professionals.
